Background
This project is the outcome of a one-week UI design exercise, where I was tasked with designing a mobile app that leverages AI to help users track their health metrics. Given the short timeframe, I developed mid-fidelity prototypes to illustrate the user flow and produced high-fidelity prototypes for three key screens.
Breakdown of Issues
In this exercise, I considered how AI can provide useful insights, suggestions and progress tracking to encourage users to maintain or improve their health goals. I started my exercise by posing three questions:
What is the existing user interaction and symbols of AI function?
What are the key features of a health tracking app?
How can AI improve one's experience of health tracking?
My Role
I completed the research, prototype and design phase within one week. For the final interface design, I referenced the fluent design system developed by Microsoft company.
After reviewing the brief, I identified the main design goal: to create a health app that uses AI tools to deliver personalized insights and recommendations.
Issue:
Applying AI
Mobile App with a coherent design system
Motivating users to achieve or enhance their health objectives
Goal:
To enhance comprehension of health goals and offer personalized, smart advice
To monitor health risks by integrating sleep patterns, medical history, stress levels, etc.
To simplify data entry and organize the dashboard based on users' diverse objectives
Results and Reflections
If this design project were to take longer time, I would love to consider the following factors:
Check design accessibilities
Include dark theme for the mobile app
Conduct user testing to understand how AI influence UX patterns in real use cases
